My third flight, again in the warrior. I turned up at the airport with my dad and brother who were going to watch from the picnic area, but asked if they could come along for the ride. We did a walk around inspection from the checklist before getting strapped in. For the first time, the pre-flight was done from the checklist with me reading out the items and the instructor pointing them out and demonstrating their operation. Previously this had mostly been done by the instructor. Again, after testing both sets of controls I taxiied to the airport, which was runway 28 for the second time. We did power checks at the runway hold, again from the checklist and departed.

For this lesson we were looking at straight and level flight, which is all about maintaining current altitude, heading and airspeed. We also practiced some basic climbs and powered descents.

The weather today was quite nice, it was warm with a fairly high cloud base.

No flying next weekend as I’m away with band, booked for the Saturday after that.
