Just updated my photos section so it now uses Coppermine photo gallery, so that should be a lot more effortless for me to put my photos up now. There are various themes that you can use with it, so i will be changing those around periodically. Let me know what you think.
We got our new recycling bins the other day; you might think it’s a good idea to promote recycling an all that, but what a pain! It leaves two options: 1) put all your rubbish in the bin as usual, and sort through it all when you take it out. 2) Have the boxes inside and separate them as you use them, which means having dirty tins and beer cans smelling for two weeks.
This is slightly taking the piss me thinks! Why should I (we?) waste time sorting rubbish out, when someone else gets paid for doing it!
Of course, this is just my initial impression of this scheme, maybe time will change me into a recyclomaniac… who knows.
And in other news… I am considering changing the colour scheme of the site, the blue is getting a bit boring. Not sure what to yet, but hopefully it will be a nice change.
You might also have noticed that the photos pages are starting to get a bit out of date. Basically, I can’t be bothered to put any new ones on as I have to make the pages manually, so I’m looking for a way of making that a bit easier. I have toyed with coppermine but i’m still not sure its what i’m after, bit too bloated I think.
Scary to say, I know, but I’m now half way through this semester… another 6 weeks and I will be half way through my degree! All is going well, I’m managing to keep on top of the work (which isn’t a lot really as the moment) and its all good fun, even the getting up early for 9:00 lectures.
You may have noticed the last two posts were by Cheryl. If you would like to be able to post things like this, go to theregister page.

Guys Ask: Why do girls go to the bathroom in groups and gossip like maniacs? I know that’s what they’re doing. Is this a genetic defect?
The Girls Respond: Guys, you are correct that we are not in the bathroom helping one another flush the toilet. We are connecting! And we don’t need basketballs or video games to do it. We dissect other people’s personalities because it’s fun.
And we can’t relax and do it in front of boys because they’ll judge us and call us catty. Guys, after all, are talking about supremely impersonal stuff like events, games, objects, politics. Snore
Thats two weeks gone… nine left! This week has been pretty ordinary, nothing really interesting. I’m quite tired, which is probably because I have been getting up early every day, instead of lazing in bed like i did for most of the summer; I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon though.
After two weeks of travelling to uni, I can say it’s actually not that bad! It just means getting up early (6.30!), but the plus side of that is i am back by 2 most days (i was back at 11 today!). I saw my timetable for next semester last night - it’s almost exactly the same as my current one, apart from a new set of modules.
Have a good weekend!
Lovin this ‘day off uni’ thing! Today was my first of what looks like four Mondays off. I have another one next Monday, then I’m not entirely sure what’s happening after that. Well, i woke up at about 12, to see that the download i had left running overnight had finished (woo!) …. the new Age of Empires III trial (i have to leave it running overnight because it was such a popular download that the ensemble servers were dishing it out a speed which resulted in me having a download speed of ~15kb/s = grrrr). I spent a few hours playing this until i completed the demo campaign which was, i have to say, very pleasing! So much so that i will most definitely be buying the game when it is released on 4th November. For those that don’t know, Age of Empires is one of my all-time favourite games - it never fails to entertain!
After that, i spoke to Cheryl for a while (hi!), ate a bit and found myself here…
